Following recent meetings between Isle of Man Customs & Excise (IOMCE), the Isle of Man Yacht Forum (IOMYF) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), Affinity is pleased to confirm a very positive outcome for the Isle of Man yachting industry.
A copy of IOMCE News Release was issued at 5pm Wednesday 10 February 2010 clarifying the impact of RCB 56/09 issued by HMRC in August 2009.
Affinity Managing Director, Patricia Slavin, one of the IOMYF representatives involved in negotiations with IOMCE and HMRC, said “the objective of recent meetings was to achieve clarity from IOMCE and HMRC on interpretation and proposed implementation of RCB 56/09. The outcome is most positive giving clear direction to the Isle of Man yacht charter industry. This welcome and significant development affirms the commitment of the Isle of Man Public and Private sector to work together to meet and adapt to the needs of clients. I have no doubt that this clarification will result in further growth in the Isle of Man yacht industry.”

New corporate identity launched in style at Monaco Yacht Show

The new name Affinity was chosen and the new corporate identity was officially launched, in style, at the 2009 Monaco Yacht Show on September 24th: ‘It seemed the perfect place to launch our new company name and corporate identity,’ said Patricia. ‘We took a stand at the show and hosted a reception in a Monaco restaurant, which proved highly successful. Our plan is to hold a similar event in Douglas to introduce the new company name and identity to the local business community on October 29th.
